Unobtanium, otherwise known as titanium for automotive applications has now become a little more obtainable thanks to our friends over at Ticon Industries.
These guys hand roll, weld and fabricate everything in house and offer TONS of options for you to lay out your build using titanium. From strait lengths, to mandrel bends, hardware and even pre made pie cut kits, they've got an option for you.
They even build mufflers in a wide array of sizes to suit your car ranging from 2.5" to 4" in diameter.
Enough of my rattling on, here's their words about their product and their company.
"Ticon Industries was founded with fabricators and racing enthusiasts in mind to create the ultimate lightweight racing products tailored to exhaust systems, intakes and intercooler piping. The obvious benefit of Titanium is the drastic weight reduction of up to 75% as fabricators and consumers can run a thinner 1mm/0.039" wall thickness lightweight Titanium exhaust in comparison to the industry standard heavy 16 ga/0.065" wall stainless steel exhaust while still achieving the same overall strength. Titanium, also an excellent heat insulator in comparison to aluminum, has half the heat capacity and transfer rate of aluminum promoting better engine efficiency through decreased intake air temperatures when utilized for intakes and intercooler piping."
"The Titanium products we manufacture and sell, are engineered with the highest quality CP1 (commercially pure grade 1) Titanium for our tubing that is rolled and seam welded in house, pie cuts which are all laser cut, deburred, ultra-sonically cleaned and individually packaged and mandrel bends which are precision cnc bent to prevent ovaling and wrinkling of the tubing. Our vast array of CP2 grade flanges caters to the majority of exhaust, intercooler piping and intake applications on the market and are CNC machined for exacting fitment. Couple that with our Titanium mufflers and accessories and you have a one stop shop for all of your Titanium needs."
One thing that really impressed us is that their products arrive cleaned and ready to weld. They debur and prepare all the cuts and edges for you as well, leaving you with just laying out and building your parts.
