Johnny Detamore's 1985 Coupri

We're always looking for killer projects and when we came across this car, we couldn't NOT feature it!

Johnny Detamore built his 1985 Mustang into his coupri, a capri bumper, fenders and rear quarters, Xenon air dam, sn95 interior, custom wheels, IRS rear, blown 2v stroker using a procharger, added t-tops and painted it grabber blue.

 

Today, we're looking at what I can only describe as a collection of the coolest fox body features packed into one car with a touch of modern convenience.

This car has been dubbed the "Coupri" and for good reason!  It started its life out as a 1985 Mustang Coupe.  Over time, the owner Johnny, collected a Capri front clip and rear quarters, a t-top roof, a SN-95 interior and then built a nasty blown 4.6l based drivetrain for the car.

Then came the t-top roof!

Followed by the Capri rear quarters.

And eventually, the entire Capri front clip, featuring a Xenon lower valence/air dam.

Oh, and don't forget black SN95 interior with leather!

Johnny built this car by hand in his one car garage from engine, to body work, paint and all fabrication/installation on on the body.  This is the definition of grassroots fabrication and definitely something we can dig!

It's also noteworthy to include the fact the car rides on full Maximum Motorsports suspension with an IRS rear axle.  Check out the show board below for further notes on the car's modifications.
